Is-sinjal għal PASTIZZAR għandu żewġ partijiet. (i) L-ewwel isir isir is-sinjal għal PASTIZZ. Iż-żewġ idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ L bil-pala tħares l-isfel u bil-ponot tas-swaba’ tal-L ta’ id imissu mas-swaba tal-id l-oħra biex jiffurmaw forma ta’ rombu jew ta’ pastizz. L-idejn imbagħad jinfirdu biex il-forma tikber imbagħad is-swaba jerġgħu jiltaqgħu. Din terġa ssir darbtejn jew iktar. (ii) Imbagħad isir is-sinjal jew għal KIEL (jew għal XOGĦOL jew għal BIEGĦ). Is-sinjal għal KIEL isir b’id waħda li tieħu l-forma ta’ 5 milwija bis-saba’ l-kbir imiss mal-werrej. L-id tersaq lejn il-ħalq xi darbtejn.
Hemm diversi varjanti tas-sinjal għal PASTIZZAR. Kollha jużaw is-sinjal għal PASTIZZ u normalment jingħaqdu jew mas-sinjal għal BIEGĦ jew mas-sinjal għal XOGĦOL. Is-sinjal għal BIEGĦ isir biż-żewġ idejn. L-idejn jieħdu l-forma ta’ 5 laxka bil-pala tħares ’il ġewwa u s-swaba’ jħarsu lejn il-ġnub. L-idejn iduru ma’ xulxin b’lura xi darbtejn. Is-sinjal għal XOGĦOL isir biż-żewġ idejn li jieħdu l-forma ta’ ponn bil-pala ta kull id tħares laġenba u ponn wieħed jitqiegħed fuq l-ieħor darbtejn jew iktar.
The sign for CHEESECAKE (PASTIZZI) BAKER has two parts. (i) The first part is the sign for PASTIZZ, the typical Maltese savoury cheesecake. The sign for PASTIZZ (CHEESECAKE) is made with both hands in the shape of L with the palms facing downwards and with the fingertips of the L touching so that the hands form a rhombus or the shape of a ‘pastizz.’ The hands then move away from each other to extend the rhombus shape then the fingers meet again. This is repeated twice or more. (ii) The the sign for EAT (or for WORK or TRADE) is made. The sign for EAT is made with one hand that takes the shape of bent 5 with the thumb touching the index finger. The hand moves to the mouth twice or more
There are different variants of the sign for CHEESECAKE (PASTIZZI) BAKER. They all use the sign for PASTIZZ (CHEESECAKE) and usually combine with the sign for TRADING or the sign for WORK. The sign for TRADING is made with both hands. The hands take the shape of loose 5 with palms facing inwards and fingers pointing to the sides. The hands rotate over each other backwards twice or more. The sign for WORK is made with both hands in the shape of a fist with the palms facing sideways. One fist is placed over the other twice or more.
